hi,
i am kind of new in this so i need some help :)
i installed apache and php modules on my system
i d/l mysql from mysql.org and installed it
now, when i try to connect to the data base via php script i fail.
i am not certain why.
i think my configuration of the data base / apache is missing.
how do i define to the database where to listen for incoming requests?
do i need to tell apache / php where the database resides on the local machine?

thanks for your assistance

In case you want to install an apache, mysql, php architecture on a Windows machine: I can suggest the install package on http://www.firepages.com.au/. It's preconfigured for windows.

If you are interested to install on Linux. I can suggest Mandrake 9.1, it comes with a preconfigured Apache/MySql/Php installation.

Regards,
