Is there code that checks if a user name is already used or not. My task is to validate whether a username or userid is already used in my database and sends a message to the user asking for a new name if it is already there.

I am using php, mysql ccs v2.1

I would suggest that you put a link or a button to a popup page beside the field .. and you pass the value to the popup page where then the UserName is checked.

I dont know how to code it but you can search since you know the concept

Hope this helps,
Rene,

In CCS select the textbox for user name and in the properties manager you will see a setting for unique set this property to yes and your done.
