I need to connect my intranet to a MS SQL Server 2000 database. Can someone help me to set up the connection string ? In the past I used a MS-Access-Database with the following connection string:

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;User ID=Admin;Data Source=D:\inetpub\wwwroot\clubsaintdenis\Intranet\content\calendar.mdb;Persist Security Info=False

But this string does not work with the MS SQL Server Database.

I would appreciate any help !!!

Here's an easy way to create a connection string for ANY database.

Create an empty file named "MyConnection.udl"

Double Click the file, you should now have the Data Link properties window open.

Now setup your connection and close application. The file you create will now have connection string in it ready to go. Just keep re-using the file to create new connection strings.

Way cool method. I never knew this existed. Thanks for sharing this tip. Why not put it in the tips section of this site!
