 javascript in footer

I want to add javascript to my page. I see postings about adding it to the footer, how/where exactly do i do this? is it explained somewhere? do i do it in the design or html panes and am i adding clent sided code to an event?

for codecharge there is header/footer that works like an include file

for codecharge studio you need to create a dummy grid (that gets one record only) and assign that javascript to the label value.

then you include it as a footer (make includable file)
