Is there a way to make the entry of a phone number follow the normal format ie: (xxx)xxx-xxxx ? Not using the validation rule but to make it right even when the data entry is xxxxxxxxxx.

Thanks

ED,
Create a new project and on the solutions tab there is a CCS Example Pack. I use this project to answer all of my questions like you have stated. There is a perfect example in there that will show you what you need to do.

What is you have the phone number stored as xxxxxxxxxx and you would like to display it as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Could you use the FROMAT function?

Thanks,
Karim

After trial and error and sweat ;-)

You can use the format function BUT the trick is, the field has to be numeric.
not text. Then you place the format the way you want (000) 000-0000 and viola!it works.
