CCS + Java is getting to become more interesting.
I have now combined CCS with JasperReports in my own projects.
Read only access appears the only missing database style of approach - which is labour intensive to plug into CCS.
Developing own event listener classes to implement my own database / application rules.
Nice MVC design in CCS which affords such adoptions.
CCS has to plug a resource leak or two then we can really rock!

I use:
CCS + Java(Eclipse http://www.eclipse.org) = Very fast and nice realization of project
MVC
model - model(my packages) with adapter to model DB from CCS
view - CCS 2.x
controller - action controller from CCS and application controller from my packages
