Just upgraded PC and now have XP Pro. When I was using CC in Win 98 with PWS I had no problems, but now I'm using XP with IIS I cannot view live sites when CC is open - error message tells me cannot access file as it is already open - any ideas???

Andy,
A couple of questions.
Is MS Access open (as in the application) when CCS is Open.
Are you using MSaccess 2000 or above.
Which OLEDB - NOT ODBC driver are you using in CCS.

MS Access is not open, but codecharge opens the lock file.
I am using MS Acess 2000
I am using Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0
Thank you for your response,
Andy

In Ms Access under Database Options under Advanced Tab
1. Is the DB shared or Exclusive?
2. What is the Default Locking?

Andy,
Can you try the following:
1. Create a new empty database. Import just the tables and views into the new database and rename the databases so the new database is referenced by ASP.
2. If this doesn't work make sure you are totally out of MsAccess and open the "Task Manager" and see if MS Access is still running as a process (sometimes MSAccess stays open on crash) if it is kill it and try again.
You are beginning to stump me on this.
If this doesn't work I might get you to send me a copy of the DB to test.

Andy,
Can you try another thing.
Can you modify your connection object and click to rebuild your connection object. Once the OLEDB page comes up, click on modify the link and go to the advanced Tab check to see that on the Access permissions that ONLY "Share Deny None" is the only one ticked.

Hi there,
It hapens also with me. At first it was anoying, but now I'm already use to
it. But I think there nothing to do. Why I don't know.
Sometimes I don't need to close CCS but only if I close every page before or
the intire project.

Is this happend just using one ASP instance.
i'm almost 100% sure is security setup.
First time you run the ASP it create a MLB and there is no way to delete/update the MLB control locking for access.
To do a quick test go to that folder where teh DATA is located and assign EVERYONE use with full access.
(BE Aware that this could be hazzard in a WEB HOSTING PUblic enviroment)
if that wokr just remove the VERYONE user, locate the DATABASE in aniother Folder and ASSIGN WRITE/READ permision in Folder Security and No execution permition to be safe.
