Table is: match team1 team2 where team1 and team2 are both lookups in the teams table. The editable grid is fine.

I can create a search & grid for each of them. But I want them to select one team and modify the search query to have where t1 = {s_team} or t2 = {s_team}

Before submit event on the search form did not work. It gave an error message
about the data source would not be created.

How do I modify the search query?

Hello,
If you use Table/View datasource just add two parameters under WHERE section with the settings like:
Field
Name: t1 (t2 for the second parameter)
Type: Integer
Condition: equals (=)
Parameter Source
Name: s_team
Type: URL
