CCS Developers please take note:
The path to the Portal example stylesheet is wrong!
CCS b4 generates MailBox while the folder is named Mailbox
This creates havoc on case-sensitive filesystems.
I changed the folder name to reflect the code and it worked perfect even in
PHP
No other modifications were needed other than database settings.
I now have ASP and (converted) PHP Portal versions
working out of the box on remote sites, now to test them.
It would be nice if the above error is corrected by YesSoftware.
Greetings

Does this happen to clean Portal example ?
I've tried to duplicate this but folder created by Beta 4 was still named
MailBox.

Hello Alex
I have uninstalled CCS B-4, deleted the folder in Program Files, now I
reinstall and check
The folder is there with the wrong name
C:\Program Files\CodeChargeStudio\Examples\Internet\Portal\Themes\Mailbox
(copied from my file browser)
This gives the wrong code in PHP breaking paths to Themes css and images.
Hope this will be fixed soon.

I beleive this is still an issue
This happens consistently with different PCs
Affected:
Scripts on case sensitive server file-systems
Apache/linux
Not affected
On non case sensitive server file-systems
IIS W2K
The fix is easy, renaming the folder in the Internet examples section.

Thanks alex, for all your prompt replies to the newsgroup,
and also THUMBS UP to dave rexel, for all his contributions.
read them with a lot of interest, and makes me better understand the
behind the scene handling. Very interested in the possibilllities to
write own plugins.
greetings from a rainy amsterdam,
bob

yes I agree, writing own plugins will open the way for dreamweaver/ultradev
type communities to start, which hasn't ever really happened with CC 2.x

Portal path :
Thank you Alex, I'm one of your biggest fans.
Plugins :
Thanks to Robert, Steve and others for encouragement, this NG is always
sitting with CCS beta4 on bedside PCs so I can get in a bit of exploration
after regular work. Mostly to enjoy the polite and precise answers from the
YS crew. Its a pity I can only get into CCS late at night.
I'm convinced that CCS and not MX has the right concept for busy web-service
builders.
We are using UD as in teams where a few of us upkeep a base main-functions
file and expose the functions simply for the rest to use in graphic and
business logic design. We have written several in-house UD plugins which
only expose needed elements to the other teams. No prebuilt UD server
actions are used. It works but I have a vision which to a great extent is
already realised by the out of box CCS. When the concept is expanded I hope
to halve development time on some tasks so we can focus more on end user
comfort.
The product CCS is nearly there: so I'm a bit pussled as to why these
brilliant developers do not throw all the weight they can beg, steal or
borrow to leverage the obvious advantage they have at the moment. Software
development is volatile, there's nothing stopping MS, Adobe or MM using
their immense power bases to deliver this sort of app-pre-building to their
existing flagship IDE products. I would probably still prefer YS coding
style and beautiful architecture of the generated output, but I have to go
with what pays the bills. Lets hope the biggies still don't realise what a
danger CCS really poses to their monolithic products and that YS gets up
more steam.
I would like to invite contributions to the thread :
Plugin architecture
Could we shift the focus there and close this thread because it's served its
purpose : reporting a perceived bug.
Greetings,
Dave
