I've only tried CCS Beta 3 so far...

I realize that CCS has many benefits over CC, but I miss the way to manage
the fields of a form in CC.

Are there any plans to supply wizards that will make it just as easy to add,
delete or change field parameters as in CC or will I have to create a new
form?

/Stefan

Straight answer: there are no such plans because what you're asking about
may not be possible, or would not be desired (all Wizards are one-way by
design).
However, you can easily modify forms and fields as you like without the use
of Wizards.
In fact, we've spent last several months adding features specifically to
allow users to add new fields, move them around, modify them, etc.
It's very easy to add a new field to a Grid or Record form. Simply add a new
table row or column and drop a Label or TextBox into it.
We've even added sophisticated way of moving fields around - press ALT+Up,
ALT+Right, etc.
Even better, you can now create Record forms with 2-columns, or create Grids
with full control of cell width, text position, etc.
More, you can easily change field's type to another type (like "Label" to
"TextBox") just by right-clicking on it.
And you can modify field parameters directly in the Properties window,
without a need to go through several screens of configuration.
If there is anything else we can do, we will be happy to consider any ideas
how to make CCS even more flexible. Just please be detailed and describe
your idea in detail, and tell us why the current features are insufficient
for you.

Back to Wizards:
The main concept of "Wizard" is associated with one-time, one-way creation
of "something".
Once you go through Wizard's steps, its job is complete.
Even in CodeCharge 2.0, if you use a Wizard to create a page, you can no
longer go back to the Wizard, but you can use properties to modify field and
form parameters.
This has not changed in CCS and you can modify properties of fields and
forms, just in a more standard way, like in other development environments.

What you are asking about is probably just opening the Properties in a
similar window as in CC.
We didn't want to do this because it was not a "standard" method and many
people were confused about how CC works.
CCS is designed to be similar to MS Access, Visual Basic, Delphi, Visual
Studio, etc., thus being more familiar to developers.

And if you are thinking about a way of modifying forms in the way similar to
CC, think about this:
If we added such feature, it would simply erase your existing form and
recreate it with additional fields.
But the main purpose of CCS is to let you work with your HTML and *not to
overwrite* your design.
If a program regenerated your form, it could damage the design and
arrangement of your fields, and it wouldn't know where to add new fields
without overwriting everything in the old form.
This was the main weakness of CC, and if we came back to that concept in CCS
many users could complain "CCS just overwrote my form that I've spent 2
hours designing...".

Comments?

Thanks for the input. You are right!
I think my main concerns are

1. I have to relearn.
2. CCS costs about twice as much and I plan to use it only for non-profit...

Best regards,
Stefan
