Hello Everyone,

This is just a quick note that CodeCharge Studio 1.0 is now available!
CodeCharge.com website is currently being updated and if you do not want to
wait, here is the download URL:
http://www.codecharge.com/download/files/CCStudio1_0.exe

Please uninstall previous version (Beta) before installing the new version
(1.0).

More information will be posted here soon, and an email announcement will
follow.

All Professional users will receive new CodeCharge Studio Serial Number(s)
within the next few days. There are no differences between the Trial version
and fully activated version, therefore you may use the Trial version just as
the full version.

Thank you for your help during the Beta period.

CodeCharge Team

James,
You're in Taiwan? Out of curiosity, I heard yesterday Taiwan
gov't offices and most businesses will be switching from Windows to
Linux. Is there any truth in this? Do you know how many computers are
involved and how long will it take? Is there a preferred Linux
variant?

Brent

Brent,

Taiwan government is eagerly to show its "action" (instead of inaction) to
Uncle Sam about intellectual property rights protection, the Ministry of
Justice cracking down on software piracy which triggered an intense backlash
on college campuses, who have complained that Microsoft controls an unfair
monopoly. Some government agencies and companies were trying to use
alternative software. Partly because of business competition, for example,
Sun Microsystems offered free StarSuite 6.0 to 22,000 faculty and students
in a university in southern Taiwan. This implies the students could in the
future use non-microsoft software if they are made familiar with, e.g.,
StarSuite.

Although it may not be "true" for the time being, it is possible in not very
long future, Linux will prevail in this island, and even more, in mainland
China. Redhat, Mandrake are the most installed. Some use local Linpus and
RedFlag from PRC.

Many servers have been switched to Linux (e.g. my company runs Mandrake on
our intranet server), desktop or client PC will need more time to change,
because X-window is really in need of improvements, before it can compete
with MS windows or Macintosh.

Just for your info.

Jim
