Well, I iredered and paid for CCS and now I can't even get past the
tutorial.

don't match the tutorial's (I can get past that) but as soon as I go to LIVE
PAGE I get the following error oven and over again:
a.. Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
Could not use ''; file already in use.
/taskmanager/Common.asp, line 115Browser Type:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)
a.. And this is in the tutorial! I can't imagine oing lice with a whole
project, I worked around it by closiing a re-opening CCS. what a drag!
Is this a bug?
Is someone else expierencing this?
Thanx.
Alfred.

Alfred,
I am new to CCS and initially had problems working my way through the
tutorial. I read a couple of posts submitted on 5/30/02 that noted the
problems and helped me complete
the tutorial.
Hope this helps you.

You are experiencing very standard ASP issue that is not related to
CodeCharge Studio or the Tutorial.
You can easily find an answer to your question on the Internet, you can also
contact our support, or simply look at the appendix in the Tutorial, which
describes your exact issue.

I have had this error only when I have the MDB open at the same time. It
looks like CCS would like to have exclusive access? ;-(

backwards with CCS

Hi Konrad,
In my case (WinXP Pro & Office XP) every time I try to run one of your
intranet samples, I have to flag the directory (FileManger) and then
un-check "Read-only". For some reason, after I run the "Live Data"
something is getting flagged as read-only. This is very annoying.

Are you using Access databases? I've been working exclusively with SQL
Server and do not see this problem.
However, I have been troubled a bit with Windows 2K security on the web site
itself. I run "Low (IIS process)" for the "Application Protection" setting
and get around that. As earlier noted, this is an ASP issue - not anything
specific to CCS.

Yes, I use Windows XP Pro as well and had the same problem from time to time
with any ASP applications using MS Access.
Although it is not a CodeCharge issue, we provided a solution in the
Tutorial that usually works best.
The "read-only" is probably something that you shouldn't be looking at
because it may confuse you. It's always half-checked on my computer and
that's OK.
The main issue in Windows XP Pro is the security on your folder. Please
change the security as described in the Appendix of the Tutorial.

Konrad

No, CCS doesn't need to have exclusive access.
This is a standard issue with ASP if your database doesn't have sufficient
privileges.
CCS doesn't generate any "special" code - just a standard ASP that you can
write manually and experience the same issues.
If something doesn't work if MDB is opened, then again, this is an ASP and
Windows security issue and is not related to CCS.

Alfred,
This is not an issue with CCS, but for people who are not familiar with this
problem, we provide the solution in the Appendix to the Tutorial.
Please read it before becoming disappointed.
This problem and appropriate solutions are described in many places on the
Internet.
It's simply not possible for CCS to override Windows security.

A little thing:
On many default installation of Windows XP Pro, the Security tab is disabled
and you have to go in :
Explorer-> Options->Folder Option->View and uncheck "Use simple share mode"
I hope it's usefull for you
