Hi,

I have been following the debate on CCS vs. Web Matrix and not sure which
one to use. Does anyone know if CCS will generate ASP.NET pages in VB.NET ?
I am likely to choose Web Matrix just because it's our company standard to
code in VB.NET.

Thanks

Jean

Jean,
I would wait for CCS because their solution builds whole sections of sites
with prebuilt functionality through a wizard-interface.

This is only the 1st version of this exceptional generator/editor. I am sure
lots of refinements are on the way.

You have to redo all pages in WebMatrix as you move from one
customer/department/DataBase to another. Afters 36 long hours testing it I
returned thankfully to CCS.

In CCS once you develop a good application logic you just copy the
project-folder to another renamed folder in your file-manager.

The new application only needs minor tweaking, DB-login, FTP-login etc and
is up and running in minutes.

The only reason I'll keep WebMatrix is it's free, but CCS will actually do
your work for you in most site-building scenarios.

The time and trouble it will save you will be realised in a few real-life
projects and more than return the purchase cost.

Greetings,
Dave

I've been asking about VB.Net code generation in CCS for some time now.
I've seen no indication that they're either working on it or committed to
doing it. What do you know that makes you suggest to Jean to wait on CCS???
I'd have already bought CCS if it generated VB.Net code for ASP.Net; the
minute that it was announced, to be sure!!!

Your implying that there's reason(s) to believe that it's coming. I'd love
to know what factually makes you believe that. It'd be GREAT news!

Robert and Jean
I'm afraid that I cannot find the post/article which lead me to this
conclusion. I did read this somewhere but I could have misinterpreted
something.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I have an immense workload just now.
Regards
Dave

Hello,

We are currently working on VB.NET implmentation.
It should be available in August, with possible Beta release in July.
