Hi,
I have the dim feeling that I work with a buggy software. Will there come an
update soon? It's too hard to work with the software.
Sometimes it just crashes (does'nt matter so much when I save every minute),
then when I rename a form codechargeStudio doesn't realize this.
In the moment I have a checkbox, set the type to integer (it was date
before) but codechargeS says when I search for a record:
Falscher Wert im Feld urls_modified_by. Korrekte Werte sind: dd/mm/yyyy (2)
(german... means wrong value in the field...)...
So I removed the fields and made them again, but there's no change...
I'm using 1.0.7.0. Is it a beta?
Thanks for your information about a bugfix or a new version!

I can personally say that I've yet to have CCS crash on me. And I use it
pretty much every day. On some of the problems you list below, did you
make sure to regen the pages and/or the entire project? And are you making
sure that your web server is using the up to date code? (That one got me
on one project recently. LMAO)

Had that one to, often as a matter of fact. I frequently have to remove all
files on the server and regenerate the entire project to get to see changes
I made in CCS. Somehow files aren't copied propperly from my desktop to the
server. Even had to remove backup html files in the project directory, you
now the ones with the ~ in them.
This is costing me a lot of time when I have to figure out if I coded
something wrong or the page just didn't transfer right.

I generate ALL files after every change. I never had problems seeing changes
of my code on the webserver. On the developmentserver, there is no cash, no
firewall or else which would cause the problem.
I didn't want to redesign my hole project, yesterday, so I searched in the
code myself - and - found the mistake, removed it, regenereted all files and
it worked. But is it the mind of such a software? I build sites by
WYSIWYG-Editos and then go trough the code for removing the errors off the
code?
And with the crashes - I'm using Win2000 and it's mostly stable...
OK, now it's friday, 13th. Let's see what's going on today )

Not only I have feeling, it is now a strong believe. A lot of stuff simply
does not work. I have at leas two cases unresolved because of the bugs in
the CCS, and it was not word on when the issues will be addressed. One of
them is related to the undo function, which simply does not work in design
mode. The 'last drop' was when recently I simply added an image tag inside a
page which includes other pages, and after regenerating the files the ASP
error message started to appear in one of the included modules. Stuff like
this ...

After applying the Windows XP SR1 last week, my CCS has been MUCH MORE
STABLE. Of all the applications I run, CCS and M$ Outlook 2000 are the two
leading "offenders." CCS is a great tool and I hope that Yes will get more
documentation and examples out to show what it really can do. In spite of
its frustrations, I'm not looking for a replacement.

Hi Tobias,
Well, your not alone with this... I have almost the same problems, and
there are plenty of known busg with the checkboxes: They mostly donīt
get created the right way when using any kind of wizzard! You have to
remove them manually and create them new by hand but be sure you didnīt
edit the code in the meantime...
If you moved from CC 2.0 to CCS (like I did), my first fault was to edit
the code on the "code"-page by hand the way I used to do it in CC 2.0 -
but if the code-background gets highlighted from grey to white, CCS
wonīt edit/create the code any longer itself when making any change on
the design-page!
To answer your question about "is it beta": IMHO it is :)) It is a great
software and YesSoftware did a very good job on developing CCS, but the
"official" betarelease time was a bit short, so we all are no doing the
rest of bughunting in the so called stable version... I already reported
a couple of bugs to the support system (greatings to Alex A. and Walker
P.) and they react very good and fast, so donīt be frustrated, itīs
getting better and better!
Just try to handle it the way I do: I usually only use OpenSource
sofware and since you donīt pay for it, bughunting, bugreporting,
workarounds and so on is a "normal" part of using this kind of software
- I just treat CCS the same way, even it isnīt OpenSource and it did
cost something... but for me itīs just some kind of "donation" cause you
would never get a "real" software with these features for this "small"
money ;)
I am actualy developing a "big" (over 100 tables with more than one
field as primarykey, multilang interface, and so on) webbased
software-solution (PHP /w templates, MySQL) and I wasnīt sure if I
should use the stable and well known CC 2.05 or CCS 1.07... I have
choosen CCS (1.06 at that time) and got quite frustrated, when the first
problems appeared (it was some kind of problem you got with the
checkbox) and was on my way to redesign everything in CC 2.0, but in
fact: CCS has so many features you donīt have in CC (for example the
much better handling of usergroups /-rights and different db-conections)
that I wouldnīt been able to do this all with CC in the same time, even
working with CCS does take longer at the moment than it should take,
depending on some needed workarounds...
BTW: I just started a german user group for CCS with a german forum
placed at http://www.ccug.de, so if you like to join, feel free to
register :))

Tobias and I were in the same boat. I had a complex web program to create
(web program...not web site...big difference) where the owners wanted all
the "windows" bells and whistles but have it on the web instead. I had to
decide between CC2.05 and CCS. I chose CC2.05 because it was stable. 5
months later I have it in BETA but as the new requests roll in, I really,
really wish it was in CCS because it would be much easier to make these
changes (I know because of another project I have now in CCS). But, there
is simply way too much code behind the scenes to make the switch easily
(would probably take a month of man-hours to convert it). Oh well. That's
software life <g>.

In my case, I just had the wrong path to the folder. IE I thought it was on
one drive and apache thought it was in another. :D
If you're doing ASP stuff... doesn't IIS cache that stuff now?
