How do you avoid CCS to mess up your manuel add'ed Javascript ?
It removes spaces ie between "var x = 10" to "varx=10"

Hi,

Yes told me they are looking at the problem. I fixed the proble by putting
every little bit of javascript in a function and placed these in the head
section. Somehow CCS leaves code in the head section of the html page alone.
In the body section I call the functions when needed. It's not a nice
solution but it works for me.

Hi Alex,

Somehow CCS messes up the javascript after publishing(during generation of
code?) If you then go back to design mode and look at the html CCS added "
or ' and sometimes even moved code from the end of the to the beginning. It
seems to want a very specific use of " or ' witch then ends up with
constructions like onclick="self.close'" for example. If you use only short
pieces of javascript like calling a function that is defined in the head
section there is no problem.

Please elaborate. What does the DHTML control have to do with this? How
does using FrontPage help? Does this mean that "other" html editors will
also have this problem? Is this not something you can fix directly in CCS?

Hi Alex,

I'm sorry but your answer somewhat stunned me. You advertise with the fact
that CCS can work in combination with any external html editor. I use
Dreamweaver wich is hardly an obscure little editor. I don't think there is
much you can say that will make me switch to ms frontpage. I think you
should clearly state on the codecharge site that CCS will mangle your
javascript if you do not use frontpage.... If that's what you are saying.
I hope it's not, so please could you explain what you mean exactly? Besides.
CCS mangles my javascript even when I havent used dreamweaver to brighten up
my page so I don't understand how my using dreamweaver should have anything
to do with this fenomenon. So once more to be clear. This effect even
happens when the page hasn't been edited outside of CCS.

On the same note, I tried using FP on a project and almost gacked. After 2
weeks of wasted time I went back to DW and won't even think of looking at FP
again.

Attn Alex and other CCS developers

CCS is butchering javascript that I insert anywhere but the head section, I
will not accept using Frontpage for anything so this is an issue that should
be a high prioity bug-fix from YesSoftware.

Hope that YS reads and follows the discussions on this forum.

Regards to all
Carl
