I'm doing my best to learn CCS, which means I go to live page tab often to
check work BUT EVERY time I try to go back to design tab the "This file was
modified outside of code editor ...etc" dialog appears - even tho' NOTHING
has been done outside.
It's infuriating and in error - please - what do I do to be rid of it?????
I have a licenced edition.

Well, I can't find the reference to it, but seems it had to do with the
default date selected for the project being left blank. I had not seen the
problem occur for quite some time. But - it returned with the 2.0 beta. I
don't know if something broke in the beta code or the date setting got lost
when I installed the beta.

Tks DonB,
Hope you can add more clues....
Do you mean Settings>Display Date Format or another date somewhere?
My learner project settings has the date display format OK (dd/mm/yyyy) but
the dialog is persistent despite that.
I'm on the 2.0 BETA also.

You are correct. I am sure it must be a problem with the beta. I've tried
most of the choices for default date format and nothing helps. I don't
think there is anything you can configure that is going to help. I agree it
is VERY annoying. Particularly since it was a problem in 1.0, too.

An answer :
When developing, do not publish to the same directory as project files. -
The htmls get re-wriiten per view and the project file date and the file
date no longer synch.
e.g. Have an appnameDev folder for the project and publish to appnameLive.
I'm working OK now I've done that.

That's IT! In my haste to try out the beta, I happened to point both to the
same place.
Thanks, Paulo
