I was told by my ISP to use FILEDSN=3Dwjsaorg_access_wjsa_dsn as my =
connection string to publish my site. This works fine when I use FTP =
settings, but now I can't use my local/network setting. I get the =
following error message.=20
Unable to establish connection to database.
a.. Error information:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
General error: Invalid file dsn 'wjsaorg_access_wjsa.dsn'=20
b.. More information:
The database cannot be opened, most likely due to insufficient =
security set on your database folder or file.
Can someone tell me what I have to do to fix this?
TIA=20
Brian

Your ISP probably doesn't allow connection from any other machine then =
the localhost or a specified ip on their network. That's why it wont =
work on your home PC. You'll have to make a choice. Either always use =
ftp to publish every page edit you do to your isp. Or make two different =
connection setups one for ftp and one for your home pc.

couple of things.
first the DSN on the Sever is not the Same as the DSN on your computer.
so you have to create your own DSN on your computer with the same name.
the DSN must point to the sever you db is on. Best to use the IP =
address.
The DSN is set up in the Control panel-->ODBC manager.
depending on what type of db you have on the server, you select the type =
as you create the DSN.
