Delays in inserting records

Hi
I am using ASP and SQL server.
I am trying to get the primary key of a record right after I insert it. It
seems that the Database is not getting updated right away.
I try using CCDLookUp function and unless I manually create a delay, (for
instace create a big for loop), I don't get the primary key.
Does anyone know if there is a way of making the updates to hapen instantly?
