I have an editable grid with a single empty insert row. I need to set some
of the fields in this area to some default values. Which event should I tie
these to ?

If I simply put a default in then every time the form is submitted the grid
creates a new record - not good.

I have played about with most of the sensible looking events but no luck.
Anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this ?

Found the answer

Against the grid there is an option for custom insert where you can set
where the fields get their values from ie form element, URL etc etc.

I needed to pick up a passed parameter so simply set the type to URL and
voila..
