Hi all, just started using CCS 2.1 and it seems quite good... just can't
seem to find any info about how to create new templates??? For example when
I create new project, it uses some default template thing but I want to use
a different set of templates depending on the site I am developing... any
help would be great!!

Cheers,
Dave

Dave,

I develop mine in Dreamweaver MX. You could use anything that can write out
html. Notepad?, even CCS. You can also buy templates that work out pretty
good. www.basictemplates.com It is really very inexpensive if you get a
subscription.

Unfortunately yes made the template setup at the global level so you have to
change it for each project. At least I do. I work on several companies
projects at the same time. When I switch projects I also have to remember to
switch templates. I have put in the suggestion several times to make the
setup at the project properties level but so far I must be the only one who
wants it<G>

Thanks for the help Rob!

I won't have a problem actually authoring the templates, but I just haven't
been able to find much info about how to make them - like how they get the
search and list forms on a page and bind them to the database. Then again,
it may just be a case of me being too lazy to spend more time lookin at the
help docs ;)

Do you know where can I access the default template that CCS uses to server
as an example?

Thanks,
Dave

No, you're not alone. template at project level is essential, plainly a
design error by Yes.

I have never been able to get any thing but pure html to carry over from a
template when making a new page. It always ignores any Components that I
put on it.

I guess the real problem that I am having is that I don't understand where
CCS gets the templates that it uses when you create a new project using the
project wizard. After the project wizard is done I have all my list and edit
pages but where does it get the templates that define how each of those
pages are displayed? And can I create my own "New Project" wizard to use
these other custom templates?

Thanks!

Dave,

That part is as I understand it undocumented. I expect they will eventually
publish the docs, but maybe right now they don't want to try to hit a moving
target and suffer the ire of the developers who write tools based on it.
