I am very new to this and learning as I go so bare with me please. After
installing IIS onto my win XP Pro system and finally getting Codecharge to
work by setting the permissions on IUSR for the folder and Access file I am
now encountering this error from the examples that are supplied.

Would anyone have any ideas what I have done wrong ?

Command Text: INSERT INTO forum_messages(smile_id, message_title, author,
message_desc, date_add) VALUES ('1', 'test', 'test', ?, #2003-07-10

Error description: Operation must use an updateable query. (Microsoft JET

INSERT INTO forum_messages(smile_id, message_title, author, message_desc,
date_add) VALUES ('1', 'test', 'test', ?, #2003-07-10 00:00:00#)

I had same issue. It has to do with a memo field message_desc which is not
given to the insert sql properly.
This I worked out to remove chaning over to 2.0.5 or somethnig. you perhaps
try to install newest program.

The funny thing was that the problem didn't exist on my XP english or polish
server but it did on 2003beta.

I had a thread on this issue with subject (look for it)
updating or inserting records with memo fields

Go to your database folder right click on your microsoft access database
file, -> Properties->Add ->
Advanced -> find now and then add IUSR_machine give it write permission.
apply thats all.
I found that IIS only needs this permission settings to get the application
working from within IIS. If this doe not work drop everyone with write
permission

All the best
