How much could CCS do for me

As a rookie with CCS I would be interested in feedback from users on how
they would tackle ( in general terms) a piece of code to obtain the output
in the attached file.

I would normally tackle it along the very general lines like
startinput
endinput

foreach item qualified by input

foreach day from startinput to endinput

select item startdate finishdate

if day is between startdate finishdate

print red

else print white

next

Hi David,=20

I'm a rookie at CCS also, so here's how I'd attack the problem. CCS's =
strength is rapidly generating a search / table, and a maintenance form =
with authentication. To me, this problem seems to be a little outside =
the scope of CCS, but here's how I'd approach it. =20

I'd go to http://www.asp101.com/samples/calendar.asp (or a php =
equivalent site) and use that to generate the calendar matrix. Then =
I'd insert a CCDLookup in the code in the calendar table to lookup =
values from the database, and color the rectangles if a value is =
present. Your 3 query values could be inputted into the SQL statement =
by a request.form("startdate"), etc, since it looks as if you're using a =
form.

I'm not sure how to get all of the data-aware code that CCDLookup would =
need in the blank form. Maybe some others could comment.=20

See ya,
Bob

Hi Robert

Thanks for your input.

I would agree on the strengths of CCS in the areas you state.

I shall certainly code all the data entry update etc with CCS

I was planning on creating a seperate script to produce the reports but =
thought I might just ask if this sort of thing was possible to be coded =
with CCS out of interest especially as the program has so many features =
to learn. I thought I might get insight on the more advanced features by =
opening this discussion.

Thanks again
Dave
