Hi there !

You seem to be working with the codecharge team so maybe you know if they
intend to release a real documentation because I'm having a hard time with
ccs !
Of course it works wonderfull when you use the basic features and it really
takes less time ^_^

But when you have to do something that's not basic then it becomes hell on
earth !
The worst is I know how to do it in plain php but can't make ccs do it and
that really gets on my nerves *_*

For example I've been trying for a week to make a list box with the list of
files in a folder !
if I do an echo the list seems fine but how the hell am I suppossed to make
that list an object for ccs that it could understand with it's format
array(array(something,something) ?
Really the few example and tutorials available are just not enough to use
ccs as a proffesionnal tool and in the end you thought you might developpe
your application faster but spend a week on something stupid like a list box
! -_-

So who is ccs for ?
Kids to make web site without making anything else then what the wizards can
do ?
This docuimentation problem is really annoying.
I even when to a shop to check if there were any book on CCS but of course
there are none -_-

Bonne journée

My software never has bugs, it just develops random features.

Hi Philou,

I am flattered you think I work with the CodeCharge team, but I don't. I"m
a user just like you, with no official ties. Maybe I'm missing a job
opportunity ;-)

I share the concern with you regarding the documentation. It is certinly a
weakness with the product. There is still a lot more to document, even
though they've improved the help significantly over the previous (V1.0)
release. I just don't think they have the staff to devote to it.

Am I correct in my assumption that the folder you want to list is on the
client machine, not the server? If you can post an example or description
of how you woudl do it with out CCS, I may be able to help you fit that into
the CCS framework

This doesn't sound good for a total newbie to CCS such as myself. I'm looking for a proficient but
easy-ish to learn tool, suitable for someone with good programming experience - but NOT with
GUI/windows development experience.

Except that the wizards don't seem to work too well! I can't even get Application Builder to work
in the tutorial exercise or on my own database.

Sounds like there needs to be two lots of additional documentation.

1. at a conceptual level, moving into development for newbies (like me)
2. a complex/detailed "how to" level, with examples of lost of advanced functions

At the moment, the docs I have seen, go through some tutorials - but they don't explain the overall
working or interconnection of the software that well.
