i have a search form that searches for records given lastname and/or
firstname. searching it against oracle database containing around 500,000
records. have index defined by lastname and firstname. how come this search
is sooo sslllowwww (sometimes it takes around 30 mins. or until it times
out)? what am i missing?

Tried execute direct sql instruction?
