I am working with PHP 4.0
Can I control list box population based on input variable value?
Can I register my own variables in the session and then user them in the
where clause of SQL for either list box or for Form

Regards

Yes , you can.
Go to field properties of listbox field ,
open "List" tab , fill in "lookup sql "
e.g
select category_id, name from categories
or
select category_id, name from categories " & fldlb1where & "
