For those of you, like myself, working with open-source stuff and wrestling
with the awful command line interface to MySQL on Win98, I would suggest
having a look at MySQLFront (http://www.anse.de/mysqlfront/). I only found
it last night, but it has already saved me a great deal of time. It has a
very good interface, and seems to be quite stable.
Surprisingly, for such a cool piece of software, it is entirely free.

Also Mascon is another great software for MySQL. I think you should check it
out.
