Before I download, I'd like to find out, if CodeCharge can produce a news
publishing system - say something similar to newspro?
Thanks in advance.

Easy searching. Easy top-of-the-list advertising.

Sure, I've used code charge for dynamic content managment, so somthing like
a news pro replacment would be easy... be prepared, you may have to tweak
code a little bit, but code charge is great for this type of a purpose.

Main CodeCharge task is to help easily create
database driven web sites. You mean news-driven web site.
This is possible too. For instance you can create
a form with fields news_source, news_text , news_date ,
and in Form Properties/Events/Before show
write some code for fetching news :

myarray = get_more_news (session("news_site_url"),
ession("news_category") )
fldnews_source = myarray(0)
fldnews_text = myarray(1)
fldnews_date = myarray(2)

For more info about dynamic content in CodeCharge see our portal example.

Please look at our online Bookstore example at
http://www.sourcenation.com/bookstore/
It is done in a similar manner as you could create a news portal.
For example the middle- and the right- columns are basically set of article
summaries.
The middle-column has the "Next" button at the bottom, allowing you to see
more summaries.
There is also search functionality and categorized content.

The initial draft of this site was done in 1 day with CodeCharge by a
non-programmer, and then slightly improved and enhanced by programmers the
next day. All manual programming code was kept within CodeCharge and there
isn't really much of it.
However, we can't claim that "CC can do this". We'd rather say that you
should be able to do most of it with CodeCharge, then possibly enhance your
site outside of CodeCharge.

I'm surprised you haven't downloaded CodeCharge and tried it for yourself
yet :-)
