Hello,

My ISP provider has informed me that I cannot upload MS Access databases to
their server.

Does anyone know of an ISP that will allow me to do this? As a last resort,
I was thinking of purchasing a NAT router and a mid range PC, load NT on it,
and use my Cable connection. But I really don't want to do this for several
reasons.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Mike,
check out http://www.tophosts.com/. Per their words, it is the world's
largest independent Web hosting resource site. You should find an
appropriate ISP there.

You may also ask your provider what databases do they allow, and then use
that database type.
In such case, you still may be able to use ODBC to import/export the Access
database to another format, as well as in CodeCharge design mode you can use
ODBC to connect to such database.
But per earlier email, the web resource like tophost.com sounds like what
you need.

Mike,

I'm not certain why you would want to use Access on a server when there are
so many better things to use... The whole subject perplexed me for the
longest time and I DO have a NAT Router and infrastructure set up with my
own domains internally, but for production use (read customers) I went
crazy looking for a solution. Affordable, powerful hosting IS a pain, but
I think I can help now...

ON hte subject of hosting anyone from this list that needs it can send
me a message and I can set them up with PHP4, MySQL, Perl, Real
Audio/Video, a Static IP address, SSI, SLL, Python, Java Servlet support
and a bunch more and I'll even register a domain name for you free for as
long as you host it with me... You can see the Code Charge support
application running on my server at
http://www.conceptech.com/support/index.php which plugged right in and runs
great!

My main site at the moment looks more like an SI firm (which I have been
for several years) but it became obvious of late that hosting couldn't hurt
much either... We are not quite ready to go live with our new line of
business but I thought I'd mention it here and offer a additional
CodeCharge users discount of 10% on any new account activation of at least
6 months.

Scott...

Hi Mike,

Hope this can help you.
Try www.crystaltech.com . They have support for ODBC, ACCESS, ASP.
I used to have a site with them. Just FTP your MDB file and setup a DSN and
yoy are in business.
Very friendly support.

I stopped ASP/Access and moved to PHP4/MySQL.
