Dear CodeCharge Users,

The new CodeCharge version 1.2 is being prepared for release in less than 2
weeks, although it may be delayed if we try to squeeze in a few additional
requests we receive every day.
Here is what's coming:

Additions and changes:
- Specify different Style for each Page or Form. Finally you will be able to
define table widths, colors, alignment, ect. that are different for each
form or page!
- Copy and Paste Forms between Pages. Another frequently requested feature!
- Resize the Properties Window for Forms and Pages
- Specify your own file extension when generating PHP or Perl
- Specify the number of records (in Form Properties) to be shown in a grid,
without selecting Page Scroller. This is in case you like to list X number
of rows, but don't want to show "Previous" and "Next" links.
- Added "Before Cancel" Event
- Added "Auto-Save" option, allowing you to save the project when generating
code

Bug fixes:
- Specify, if the ListBoxes in the Search form is a required field. This
removes the word "All" from the listbox, just like it is currently possibly
on Record and Grid forms.
- Specify default value for ListBoxes
- Carry variables through the record form. This is an extended modification
to allow the user to return to the Grid with the same sort and search
options as he specified before entering the Record form
- Other minor fixes

We will post here another message before releasing the update, for those who
like to help us test the new version before the formal announcement.

Heya guys

Please, please can we have the option to put template files in
their own subdirectory. This will really help neaten things
up, instead of having a bazillion cgi and html files all in
one directory.

-Bye

ps: more examples/docs would be nice.

I just have to say from my perspective that your request is just a touch out
of line! What you are asking for is to have them do ALL the work FOR you
and for that you should be willing to pay SI rates (System Integrator) at
very least. THE BOOKSTORE example that is currently shipped with the
EXISTING version is one heck of a lot of functionality that you are
basically getting for FREE!!!!

There are literally HUNDREDS of lines of OTHER free code, and PEOPLE to
explain out on the net and phpshop is another FULLY working shopping cart
that is easy to install and modify. The specifications for using cookies is
PUBLISHED, and honestly the Bookstore would be SIMPLE and easy to get more
functionality out of with VERY little work.

I think YesSoftware is doing an AMAZING job and selling it for a steal!
Keep making demands like this and you stand a good chance of driving up the
price of the software...

STOP BEING GREEDY AND LAZY!!!!

Well put!
We should be be thankful the codecharge community is doing a lot of bug
reporting and "QA"ing for Yes Software, which is keeping the price down as
it is.... Let's keep it that way.

Well put yourself! I've bought a great deal of software over the decades,
and YesSoftware is a great value for the paltry $279 i paid for it! I paid
significantly more than that for MS Visual Studio and I'm getting a thousand
times the amount of use out of CodeCharge than I ever have for VS6.

Just a thought. I am using cc to create a database driven website. It would
be great if the menu system were also driven by a table (you could assign
the name of the table as a global parameter). The table would store the
onclick, onmouseover, onmouseout as well as the display text and
graphic(optional) and the necessary keys for the individual forms to read
the correct menu items. A Menu generated form would read the items from the
menu database table and dynamically construct the menus. In fact, you could
store header and footer information in tables also so these could be
maintained separately from code charge. The concept is to put as much of the
maintenance for a website in the hands of the end user. Of course for this
to be effective codecharge would have to be able to read the tables it
creates and synchronize the forms to it. Maybe this could be put on the
table for the 2.0 release. Documentation of cc functions and how/to's on how
to accomplish basic tasks are the only things keeping codecharge from being
an outstanding product. Thanks and keep up the good work!
