I tried the tellafriend app and the email is not working.
How do I setup CDONTS ona wondows 2000 pro pc?

Scott,
PLEASE don't use this group to gripe. You can reply specifically to
an individual, but you're way out of line. I read your previous posts
and couldn't restrain from adding my 2 cents. You just proved your
own arrogance.

CDONTS is a component that comes bundled with IIS servers and is used
for sending email. It is also called CDO Mail. It's the component
that that "Tell a Friend" example uses.

What may seem a simple problem to one is a mammoth task to another. Not
everyone is as proficient as they would like to be.
Personally I have been a keen user of CC for a very long time, and whilst I
don't post regularly to this newsgroup, I avidly read it every day as I
often find invaluable help from the constructive answers others give.
I don't recollect anyone appointing you 'group moderator' if fact, I do
recall a post from you some considerable time ago promoting your own hosting
business. Which, using your own choice of words "More to the point what does
it have to do
with CodeCharge?" however it didn't envoke, rude upper case responses or
demands that you be banned.
In reflection, I think I would rather remain one of the groups 'dim wits'
and retain a little compassion, if your example of being 'knowledgeable' is
anything to go by.

HI All,
If I was wrong to ask this question, I am sorry.
But I am a new user to Codecharge and ASP and Web programming in general.
However, I am not a new programmer, as I have been doing this since 1984.
I thought the forum was for sharing knowledge and developing skills between
fellow programmers/developers.
While CDONT's does not relate directly to Codecharge, it does relate to the
purpose of web development.
What good is a tool like Codecharge if we cannot ask questions to help us
put it to work.
That's all I am going to say about this.
Again, If the questions must be specific to Codecharge, I will taylor them
in the future.

Sorry Frank if I came on strong, I was still annoyed at Eddy... In any case
I wasn't saying you shouldn't ask, quite the contrary I was asking for more
information since I've never heard of CDONT's which I'm guessing is probably
an abbreviation.
I certainly don't want you to think I'm telling you what you can and can not
ask, that's not my job and it's not my newsgroup ot make those kind of
decisions.

Yes Jim, very good point, my question while terse was just asking for more
information myself. I've answered other questions here, and even answered
other questions for Frank in the past. I've never heard of CDONT's, I was
just asking for more info as I though it could be an abbreviation, not, NOT
flaming Frank or anyone else for the question...

Sorry to say after all that I can't help with that one since I've made it a
policy of late NOT code anything specifically to microsoft "standards" since
they keep changing them and refuse to work with the rest of the industry...
