I have a small script that i want to use, its a gallery script that uploads
images as blobs,

I am trying to figure how and where to place the code into CC to make it
into a CC based script that I can then use over and over into different CC
projects.

The reason i want to use uploaded blobs for the images is that i do not want
the php to create directories and files in my webspace, because i use a
hosted server the files and directories are owned by the 'php user/group'
not by my personal 'username/group' this is awkward because it means i have
problems editing and deleting the files as there not 'owned' by me.

I have started to add the code for the script into CC by basically cut and
pasting all the code from each and every file into the 'open' events section
for each page with the obvious header footer sections of code into those CC
sections, this has made a basic working CC verion of the code , which i am
now trying to bring sections of code out of the 'open events' page , and
into the main CC fields/captions/type/size code page details pages.

I am proficient enough with php and a text editor to get most anything i
want done, but i am having a hell of a time getting my head around the CC
way of doing things with code being on events sections header/footer
sections and all. I think if it where more 'Visable' all on one page i would
be able to follow the code better, but i find that i am getting myself lost
into the miriad of behind the scenes pages that CC uses to get the job done.

I am looking for someone to help me with this script , or someone to tell me
to stop dead , and do it all a diferent way, am i doing myself an injustice
trying to 'bring in the code' or should i just start again with a basic
idea/format and develop it from there.

What i would really like , is that we could maybe work through this blobbed
gallery script, as a group thing, there seems to be loads of CC savvy people
browsing the group, but just as many , like me dumbfounded by CC .

So would anyone like to either help me off list, and we can publish the
result for all later, or would anyone be up for a little group therapy CC
project making, vai the newsgroup. we could ask CC support to host the
current files or i would happily do it, we could even do it vai the
codecharge yahoo egroup which has a file area and mails on new files
uploaded all built in.

Please guys , lets do something more than help singular problems as they
arrive, some CC projects above and beyond the installed examples would be
great news for all.

can we do my blob gallery first though :)

Good morning Steven,

I don't know right at the moment how much time I can devote but I thought
I'd start as I always do by getting some information... So, first I'll ask
a question, does the small script you use currently work as a standall
script? Is it fairly easy to istall and use, and what platform does it work
in? Does it in it's standalone version have a user interface already? Have
you thought about building an additional CC application around it and just
calling it from CC? Trust me when I say CC only seems "difficult and
mysterious" it is actually so simple to use that it is beautiful, but I know
when I first started to use it I kept looking for problems that were not
there. Because of what it does, and the other systems we have all been
exposed to over the years we (myself included) are all looking for more work
then is actually there since CC does the loins share of the work which is
really what make CC so cool!!!!
