Other than the database connection, does comman.asp ever change when a
page is published?

I have customized the string on the server and placed it with
adovbs.inc in my includes directory. I'm hoping that I won't have to
touch it again.

Thanks,

Anthony

it looks like only db connection is changed when you move to
production server

You should be fine, but I'd make the changed common.asp read only,
particularly if you deploy directly from codecharge.

I've been integrating my current codecharge app with another web
application,
and to consolidate things I've taken the data-access layers from both apps
and stuck them in a common include file. Then I replaced common.asp with a
file that simply included common.inc, and I made common.asp read-only. Now
codecharge throws a warning every time I generate, but other than that all
my toys play nicely with eachother.

Incidentaly, codecharge starts to get a bit unweildy when you're working
with 60+ pages...I find myself wishing the pagelist was a treeview.
