 Updating a Record with Cookies

CC Version 1.1.16
ASP 2.0

I am having difficulty passing the unique key to a form to update a
record. I am using cookies vs. session variables. In the Before Show
event I added:

flduser_id = Request.Cookies("id")

Now none of my form fields are populating with the information for the
specific user. Do I need to perform a lookup of the information in
the Cookie first? If so, where does it go in the form?
