Steve, there's a nasty bug with Mysql. Did you not read that? So again,
we're all waiting with bated breath. :)

I've had minimal problems so far - try it out. If it doesn't work then go
back to the old version.

Question.. If the Vers 2.0 beta is loaded up on a virgin PC, does the mysql
error occur with new documents or is this error only occuring when a user
opens an exisiting .ccs file?

Only reason I ask is that I opened existing files and got the error, then
binned the Beta - whilst I am wondering if its a conflict with the db setup
in the ccs <2.0 files ?

Theres a shot in the dark if I ever saw one!

I personally could not duplicate the issue that was previously reported.
However, our engineers confirmed that the crash is possible.
I was told that it is due to the fact that we are implementing new method of
connecting to the database.
The new method will be more robust and will resolve certain issues, like
adding the ability to show PostgreSQL table names containing undesrcores
(_), as well as will allow to work with large databases containing thousands
of tables.
Unfortunatelly, because it is a new component, it may cause crashes,
possibly with certain drivers like MyODBC.
We'll post another Beta release as soon as this is resolved. Possibly
tomorrow (7/12/01) but we can't promise.

Regards,

Adam Stock

Yup. I was seeing the crash myself with beta 3. Note, I did not upgrade
from the previous betas. I upgraded it from 1.1.16. When I try to access a
table list from my mysql database, I get this error: "The instruction at
"0x06446555" referenced memory at "0x000000d1". The memory could not be
"read"." Visual C++ debugger comes up and says " Unhandled exception in
CodeCharge.exe (MYODBC.DLL) 0xC0000005: Access Violation". This is with
Mysql ODBC driver version 2.50.33 and 2.50.37 (37 is the latest one) I'm
going to try and upgrade again from 1.16 to 2.0 beta 2 and then to beta 3 to
see if it works at all. I'll let you know shortly.

Hi,

I just tried upgrade to CC2 beta for PHP and my mysql connection also
doesn't work You are not alone Jeff ;-)
My configuration is Win2k, PHP4.05, MySQL 3.23.39-max-nt, Apache 1.39,
MyODBC 2.51.

Waiting for next upgrade as I've seen those new features I won't go back to
version 1.0 :o)
