Hi, any input welcome:

Support Help and feedback:

Hello I am using 1.1.16 and I am trying to get the Portal Program up and
running and after two days I have found the following issues assumptions and
problems.

I am developing on Windows 2K to a target platform of windows 2K running
apache server. I am using Perl 5.0 as a target language, and the access
database provided with the sample.

Perl is installed with DBI::ODBC

When I generate code perls is hardwired to live at \Perl\bin\perl.exe, but
on my system it lives at c:\dev\perl\bin\perl.exe so I have to modify each
file once generated, It would be great to have that as part of the code
generation, considering what you do so far, this is trivial.

Also the target area for images does not work smoothly, it assumes that the
images sub directory will hang off the code generation tree. My system looks
like this :

\

\CGI

\IMAGES

The CC engine expects :

\

\CGI

\CGI\IMAGES

I prefer to call IMAGES GIF and it will not accept that at all. Not the CC
approach causes problems in Apache, as the apache lives under CGI it tries
to execute the the images!! The work around is to modify each line that says
src=\"IMAGES/xxxx.gif" to src=\"\/images/xxxx.gif" again very cumbersome.

I have tried to put things like ../gif in my target system, but it does not
take it, I think its designed to work, I just can not get it working.

KEY ISSUE

----------------

Once this is done the portal looks like its running, so I login as
Admin/Admin and add articles but the articles do not show up in the admin
article panel, I though I had a DB error, chased for a while, then
accidently pressed one of the sortable column names and I saw my dummy
articles, depending on what I press, depended on what I saw..

When I went to he main page, I could not see any articles.

So :

Q1. How do I get the articles working ? (And I assume all other features..)

Q2. What is happening with the images section?

Q3. How do I configure the path for Perl

I have actually brought the program as I have faith these are just gliches,
and learning.

Tony
