It takes better than 45 seconds to retrieve ONE message.

I would say it's your connection to the internet FRY1S... I download in
the morning sometimes 15-30 messages. And, they are downloaded complete
with headers and message content in second or two. If it's taking you 45
seconds -- there is something wrong with your connection -- OR, you are
downloading one of the messages with an attachment.
