I have problems with versions 4.12 and 4.2 on the obdc driver.
Turned back to 4.0.6 and the problems are gone.

There are ODBC problems in PHP 4.1.2 to 4.2.0 indeed. They're fixed in 4.2.1
which will be released on monday.
