 how to retrive the names of the fields of a table into a list box

I want a list box to show the names of the fields of the table whose name is
input in a text box. this list box will be shown after submission of the
first input form

is there any way to get the names of the fields of a table.

i am using access and asp.

MS Access is not like other databases where you have ready access to the system tables without a lot of hassles.

I would suggest you create a separate table that you can freely populate from vb code such as in
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Databases/MS_Access/Q_20833280.html

This is NOT perfect but it will get you around a couple of security hassles that MAY occur if you host off site,

Dear Edd which is the hassle full path, i wud love to tread the same.

any one from yes software - please guide me, how does ur query builder has
access to field name from an mdb.

i want to build a webbased query generator rather sql generator and executor
which cud interact with the users and on the go generate sql and execute.

a simple form, but only problem is how to list fields in a listbox.
