Thanks for the tip Edd but it cannot help me.
I am using PHP-MySQL and need to read the listbox data from tables. Now
I am using a script called jsrs dynamic listboxes (I cannot find the
url I got it) which uses iframes and loads each listbox's values
dynamically when needed.
It uses three (no more, no less) dynamically linked listboxes but has
various problems. Foreign character don't show when there are over
30-40 values and has a dislike for menus created with xara webstyle (it
disables them).
PHPMaker uses an almost great version of dynamic listboxes with a
slight problem... when loads a page with parameters, each listbox value
is correctly selected (taken from the appropriate parameter) but the
listboxes are unfiltered, so every one contains all values...
I tried many scripts but each one has a flaw, so I hope this function
will be in the next release of CCS

I see what you mean about the Script See Reference:

Interesting - Sometimes you feel like you don't ever know enough - thank god for these forums.
I still believe XML is the way to go but this is a great alternative for large data blocks, I have a client who has 64000 customers and wanted a dropdown list box - I will give the MSRS scripting a try.
If anyone is testing these in ASP I would be interested in their success / failures / frustrations - especially with validation.
Thanks Aleister for the heads up.

I've also used the jsrs library with some slight mods ( I needed 5 list
boxes and a multiselect list.) with great success, the performance is
more than adequate.

Another solution like JSRS can be found in this topic
