Hi there
I saw 1 or 2 threads, but rather old on CCS on Linux with win4lin, etc.

Are there any users out there with some experience on this subject? ie. Which version of RedHat, Mandrake, etc and which of Win4Lin, VMware, etc.

Thanks
Paul
Nicole

I use VMWare on Mandrake 9.1.
Run at the same time Linux and Win98.

It was the fastest and better way for me, and its easy for newbies in Linux.

1- Get Mandrake 9.1. The 3 disk.
2- Go to RPM Drake and press "Add Software".
3. List all the software by Alphabetic Name, and find VMWare.
( if you only have the 1st disk, update your sofware list in the following URL: http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ - or locate in Google any "easy URPMI")
4- Locate VMWare, download and istall it.
- It is important to use Mandrake 9.1, because the 9.2 Distribution marks a problem with Kernel, that cost you more training, investigation, and youŽll need the 6 disc of Mandrake 9.2.
5 - Enter your valid serial of VMWare . (jejeje)
6- Install the full version of Win98. I prefer to use the GNOME desktop, because VMWare do real strange things on KDE. (Sorry for the KDE lovers. By the way KDE works better if you plan to use WINE, but this thing has lots of lacks.)
7- Install the VMWare tools. Caution, dont try to use your current drivers of Win98 Monitor or VGA Card. The VMWare do a virtual setup of hardware, so the VMWare tools will config all the desktop drivers, that let improve all the necesary 800x600 and 24 bits colors, and make your Win98 faster.
8- NAT installation of VMWare is better, because youŽll share the internet connection of Linux with your virtual Windows. (YouŽll see these option when you use VMWare). Test Internet Explorer surfing the web.
9- Install CCS in your virtual Win98.
10- Publish your CCS to your server.
11- Check your project on Mozilla - Add the Flash Installer for Mozilla. Its very easy.
12- Be proud of your self.

Regards.
The Crow.
