 too many connections in mysql

hi
im frequently getting the following error while using CCS.

Warning: Too many connections in ./db_mysql.inc on line 72
Database error: connect(10.256.0.41, root, $Password) failed.
MySQL Error: ()
Session halted.



pls help me

You are probably using persistent connections. If so ,and running mysql on win2k or any other windows flavour, this is what's causing the problems. windows/ampache do not work well with persistent connection. Each request is seen as "new" and will open another connection instead of reusing an existing one. uncheck use persistent in the server tab of the connection box and the problem will most likely go a way. If not you'll have to alter the my.ini file under windows and up the number of max connections.

Open the MySQL manual (C:\mysql\Docs\manual.html) and search for "Too many connections". The answer is right there.
