Has anyone used CCS with MS Source Safe? I need to determine exactly what needs to be checked out.
A .ccp file (and .html, .php) would be checked out into a local directory but it requires a project file also to edit it in the IDE. It seems that you would want to check the .ccs project file out also. The conflict is that more than one person would need to check out the .ccs file thereby undermining the version control of the .ccs file.
Anyone have any insights on this?

Checking out the .ccp, .html and .php files should be sufficient.
Each developer should work with their local copy of the .ccs file and do not check it out unless he wants to make global changes that will affect everyone else. The .ccs file stores only the common project properties like the publishing, database connection and security settings. It's probably even better that each developer can preserve their own publishing and database settings, and do not overwrite each other's preferences.
The only time when you need to change the "global" .ccs is when you need to add new connections, new global security groups, or change the default login page in the security setup. The gobal site configuration should probably be maintained by one person/project manager anyway.
