I know that CCS is not considered a reporting tool.. but I want to produce some basic search results to display in a simple grid that the user can send to the printer.

I want the simple grid that shows the search results to display in a new window (ie: _blank). In my desktop applications I would call the report and then from within the report I would call the scope/search process to gather the query parameters for the report's query.

I would like to do something similar in CCS so one Search Form could be used for various reports but I'm not sure if this method would be good in a CCS/Web application.

My question is, what would be the best method to use to accomplish this in CCS? Would I have to call the Search and then have buttons or links on the search page to call the reports, or could I call the report and have the search page popup to gather the query parameters.

Since I'm relatively new to CCS, examples would be great but any help will be appreciated.

TIA

Assuming that any Grid could be used to report some data and users can print it, you can basically create multiple pages, each with a different grid and therefore reporting different information.
Several suggestions that may relate to your question:
1. Take a look at http://support.codecharge.com/kb_search.asp
There is the "Printable Version" button, which basically shows a simple report. Also note that the search form at http://support.codecharge.com/kb_search.asp is implemented as an includable page and therefore it can be changed dynamically at run-time.
2. Refer to the "Simple Reporting" section of the documentation:
http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/ProgrammingTechn...oupHeaders.html
3. In your case you could try to make your grids as includable pages, include all of them on the main search page, then hide the ones that users didn't select when specifying parameters for their report.
I'm not sure if there is a way to open a new window when clicking "Search". Possibly could be done with JavaScript.

This certainly looks similiar to what I am trying to accomplish. Is there a sample project that contains the kb_search.asp?

TIA

I downloaded this example but I cannot determine what code has been used to open the printable page with the search results without the search form appearing on the printable page.

Any help understanding how this is done in the example would be helpful.

TIA

In fact, this example when compiled will not run properly.
Additionally, the printable link does exactly what I get on my application, another page just like the original, with the serach boxes and all. So this application doesn't appear to run exactly like the online KB.

Errors.
