default theme for the project is set (why this setting is not allowed through project settings?), but when i add new blank page, link to stylesheet is not inserted, and i have to attach stylesheet manually.

why?

generally, it's really annoying , that many settings are available only during using builders, and applying them later is very, very complicated.

tomasz,
I don't believe that we have such thing as "default theme".
Sometimes we use the last Theme that was used, for example when selecting "Change Theme".

When adding new components to an existing page, we use the Theme of the parent component.

Adding new blank page means blank page. This is just like creating a new blank MS Word document. It is blank.

I don't agree that this process is complicated since this is the first time I hear such comments, but if you have suggestions you're welcome to submit them to the Wishes forum or directly to us.
We always seek good suggestions :-)

Keep in mind that we cannot compete with high-end HTML design tools and our main focus is the application development. Our HTML editor is basic but functional and I think that most of our users use it.

peter,

i dont expect from ccs html editor like dreamweaver, but i can expect (i hope) features which simplify site creation. such feature like default stylesheet you can find in old cc. believe me, it's very useful for fast creation new pages.

what i found in ccs it's not a intuitive approach. when i create new page and want to use styles, i have add form, becouse style lists are empty. i don't know reason of absence of such feature.. ccs is a very powerful tool - but implementing a few simple facilities can make it only better

another lack is, that after adding form (and stylesheet is already attached to page), choosing style is not possible from element properties panel. i have manually enter style name there - and it means wasting time for looking proper stle name inside the ccs file.

regards,
tomasz

ps.
in fact, blank document in ms word also can contain anything you want - after editing normal.dot...

When you first create a page it does not have any style associated with it.
Only when you add a Grid or a Record with the Builders does a style get
linked in (literally a <LINK> to the css gets added to the HTML header).
There is a folder named "default" that appears in the themes folder of my
projects, but I am not sure how or why it's put there.

With the first releases of CCS, I found that the style names never showed up
in the dropdown lists - until I installed CCS onto my "C" drive. It
consistently behaved this way as I upgraded to new computers - never could
make it work unless I installed on "C". Maybe that still is a problem and
is what you've encountered? I've not tried to replicate this behavior with
the newer releases.

The stylesheet handling in CCS is a bit clunky (to put it nicely). While
they seem to have had good intentions with the way they did it, I find it
awkward and more difficult to use than it needs to be. Not the least of my
issues is the "prefixing" of css elements with the name of the style. It
would have been much better to have uniformly named things like "DataTD",
"CaptionTD" and have their appearance derived from a style file named
Graphite, RockIt and so on. The way it is, it's hard to really make use of
the "cascading" behavior of "cascading style sheets".

It's also aggravating that the theme has to be repeatedly chosen whenever a
builder is run, instead of it remembering what theme is being used on a
page. I find it hard to imagine anyone using two or more themes on one page
in any professional-looking application.
