I've searched the knowledge base but caanot find any answer/idea. Here goes
my question:
I have a master detail where the detail is edit grid.
column cctref in edit grid refer to cctid in the database.( integer ). It is
foreign key to table cct.
What I want to display in the cctref is not the cctid but a concat text
output from another table cct. The field from another table cct is
fldA+fldB+fld.
I also want the cctref column refer to popup search where the popup search
will return the concat value and cctid value to edit grid column.
So far I've tried few options but not successful

Just have your SQL select the Concatenated COLUMNS as another FIELD. And then you can display that as another column (or replace the current one).
