 backup mySQL with CC

How can I do a backup from a MySQL database with CC?

I do not have access to the shell of the (hosted) database , otherwise I could have used this:
shell> mysqldump --opt db_name > backup-file.sql

And I do not wish to backup from within phpMyAdmin, because backing up has to be an easy to use option for my client.

You should be able to use any PHP code in CC events. There are many approaches to backing up MySQL in PHP, do a search on Google:
