Is there a way to save search criteria between listing and editing/maint pages?

If I search using form to produce a subset of items and then click on one to edit and then return (using header link) then search criteria is reset. I need to return previous search criteria until reset or changed by user.

Thanks! :)

I'm just starting to look into integrating a saved searches table. This way I can just pass the SearchId variable along to other pages instead of all the form fields. It also allows for a favorite searches and read-only system search feature. If anyone can direct me to any help it would be greatly appreciated.
