I used the the grid builder, and in the search option i'd select a date field, it automatically insert an date picker nest to the search field. When I tried to search, it displays an error 'data type dismatch (Microsoft JET Database Engine) 
searching th forum, I realise that I'm not the only one in this situation, is this really a bug  , and if it's so, why yes software did fix it for so long?

I just searched this forum for the words "data type mismatch picker" and there are no results:

Therefore I'm assuming that no one else experienced this problem. If there indeed is a bug somewhere and it wasn't fixed then it's possible that it was never reported to us. Discussing something with users on the forums is one thing, while reporting issues to us is another.
Well, I also did the test as you described and didn't experience this error. You are welcome to contact our support if you need help.
