 Page load progress indicator

I have a page that takes a bit of time to load.
Is there any page load progress indicator that I can have on my page to show
the user that the page is loading?
I do not want to use the status bar of the browser, because not all the
users have it visible.

I do this in javascript. Here's a few urls that helped me
