I have been trying to establish a connection to my Access Database which is located on an internet server. I have read several posts about the server.mappath and have tried the entry, but cannot seem to get it to work.
The server the database is on, is NOT the same path as my .asp pages. I did see a note to add the server.mappath function to the common.asp, but I'm not sure about that either. Please help. I'll provide any additional information needed.
Thanks.

NeedHelp :
The database should RESIDE on your web server. Server accross LAN (Iike SQL Servers, etc.)
If your using access mdb there are free sites that you can play around with and you can place the mdb inside (brinkster server, websamba server)
Ok, I hope that helps I could be wrong you know someone will thread here :)

AFAIK indeed MS Access doesn't support remote connectivity. Simply copy or FTP the database to your computer and work with it there.
If you are already working with your database locally and want to publish the ASP program to the server then please specify the database path on your server and someone could help you with creating proper connection string. Couple examples are posted at http://docs.codecharge.com/studio/html/UserGuide/Deploy...loyASPApps.html
It is not necessary to use Server.MapPath and in many cases it actually cannot be used.
